The Cranberries hit BIG while I was in high school, and I loved them! Last summer I put Linger on a list of songs I wanted to learn on cigar box guitar. In tribute to Dolores, today I learned it. This is a quick cell phone recording with no bells and whistles. I had to modify the intro and outro to make it work on CBG. I have no delusions about having a wonderful singing voice, but this is me with what I got goin' on today enjoying making music with a guitar I built. Thank you Dolores O'Riordan for sharing your music with the world! You brightened my days. I'm sad you are gone. I made this sound check demo to get approval before shipping it from Atlanta to Chicago. My playing is less than perfect. I was pleased with how it turned out, but the ultimate reward was that the young man doubled his guitar lessons and started playing daily because this guitar is much easier to play than the commercial acoustic he was learning on. When I heard that, it made my week! Oh - another cool thing is that I got the box from the cigar store in the Florida town where the kid's Grampa lives (my mother lives there as well).
