Ok, I'm still tryin'. Here's a tune I've played before on youtube but this is the first time I've played it on cigar box guitar. That's quite a stretch for me from the 2nd to the 5th fret on this song and I'm wonderin' if I make my next cbg a shorter scale length would it be easier to play or would that change the sound of the guitar. Things to think about.

This is an old song I learned from my Dad many years ago and I've been able to remember most of the words. So here I am with my newly built 3 string cigar box guitar tuned A D A and I'm tryin' to play the melody and sing the song at the same time. That's really difficult for me. But then, I always did have trouble tryin' to chew gum and walk at the same time. Playin' standard guitar chords and singin' is much easier but I really like the idea of singin' those old timey country songs and playin' that cigar box guitar. Thank you guys again for helpin' me through my first build.

This is my feeble attempt at a great song on my first home made cigar box guitar. I had the thing tuned open g which is way too high for my voice. So then I tried to tune to open d but broke one of my strings and realized I was not gonna be able to do that, so I found another tuning, A D A and that sounds righter for my voice. Hope to get to re-record it this evening with the lower tuning and get a better sound. But I'm very proud of my cbg. I am already plannin' my next build and the improvements I'm gonna make over this one.
