After a very long absence here is a little track to show that I have not been run over by a bus or something (at least not yet).

Jon Bickley (guitar and vocals) and I (cigar box guitar) play one of Jon B's compositions, "Jazz". Recorded in Jon's sitting room today (6/10/19). Jon is playing a Gibson guitar and I am playing a three string cigar box guitar (although only playing on one string on this track) with a Fender Mustang Mini battery amp.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow on four string CBG

Somewhere Over The Rainbow, played on four string cigar box guitar. This is the first thing I have put here using fingering rather than just slide. I really wasn't getting fingering, which I don't really understand, but for some reason something clicked and so here is my first attempt at doing something with fingering and some slide.

Funnily enough learning this coincided with that arrival of a really super gift. Keni Lee's CD 6 which uses the same tuning intervals on three strings as the upper three on the four sting that I am using. I am only just starting to go through the lessons, but it makes a lot of sense.

The guitar is tuned GDGB. The guitar has both humbucker and two piezos in the bridge. He amp is a Kustom Arrow 16DFX, set to the clean channel with the three EQ knobs level and some reverb/chorus.

House of the Rising Sun

Me having a go at House of the Rising Sun on a three string cbg. Using a low dad tuning (lowest three strings from a set of six). Kustom Arrow 16DFX amp on the clean channel with some reverb.

Spec of the guitar is dark 601 box, parana pine neck, rubber wood fretboard and bridge (part or the bridge is cedar), ebony nut and saddle, 19 frets with copper side markers, gold plated tuners, two piezo discs sandwiched in the bridge, oil finish to box and neck. Strings are electric even though there is only piezo amplification.
