Turkey in the Straw on Candy Tin Fiddle

Some builds sound better than I expect, some sound worse. This one sounds exactly like I thought it would - like a tin fiddle! Almost like a Stroh violin typ...

Oh yeah - all my fiddles are out house fiddles. My wife makes me get out of the house whenever I play!

Thanks Clock and Unc. Hey Unc, We've both been down there in the "top content" for a couple of days and now I see your cousin Ruth is there too! Pretty cool.

Sounds good to me, Jim.  Great job on building and playing.

Have you considered an outhouse fiddle?!

Thanks James and turtlehead. Oh I'm still capable of some pretty awesome screeches!

Sounding great Jim - 2 hours a day? I guess that's why I'm still in the screeching stages ;)

3 years WOW !!! thats awesome , very fine playing !!!

Thanks James. This is the 14th fiddle I've made in 3 years and after I made the first one is when I decided I had to learn to play. Luckily I'm retired and have time to work on things like this so I'll tell you - the whole first year was squeaking screaching pretty bad. The 2nd year was a bit better. And now 3 years in I can almost stand to listen to myself. And that's with an average 2 hours a day practicing. Keep at it!

it sounds great, and very nice playing !!! i bought me a violin , in hopes of learning to play it, and i was lucky to get some horrid squawking sounds from it, but when i see someone playing like this it makes me want to play that thing . good stuff !!!
