Since this post I went back into the box and tapped into the output from the pickup directing it to a volume pot and a chromed knob on the front face of the box just below the bridge.

The output from the direct jack works nicely. The lipstick tube pickup is nowhere near as powerful as the bass guitar pickups I have used in earlier builds, but it does produce a nice clean tone. With the internal amp running the direct out picks up the vibration of the strings coming from the speaker, and the sustain generated from the feedback makes it feel a bit like a pedal steel guitar.

COOL!!! I like those little Honeytones. I've made a few CB amps form them, and they have a pretty good sound. Add an out put and feed it through a 12" speaker. Holy Crap!!! That will get the neighbors attention.
