Sounds good Unc. I bury mine in hot glue now to tame them down, used to use silicone but hot glue is a lot faster.

The piezo works great in that box, full bass and it seems a nice sustain on the higher notes. Perfect fit for that excellent relic style Uncle.

John, i knew it had a place in your home. i'll make my own. send me a close up if you want or can whenever so i can study it. thank you, i was kidding. keep on building. thank you for the response about the piezo, and that man using it as a mic. glad i'm not the only one "picking" these things up.

Daniel, I think Linda has plans for that goose to hang in the family room.  Glad you like it.  You can make your own!

Ambrose, I stuck with piezos a long time before trying mag pups.  I was early enough into the CBG thing that I went to a Radio Shack(electronics store) and bought a door bell and removed the piezo and used it.  Kind of a thrill when it worked.  Piezos can sound really good and they can sometimes pick up and make a lot of feed back.  They often need lower gain settings on the amp.  Equalizers or pre/amps tame them when needed.  Enjoy the experience.

Your "Oggy" rings out a really good tone!  You've done an excellent job with that piezo Unc J. I've noted your advice on insulating and positioning.  Like Denbo, I've recently bought a pre-wired piezo from Treadstone... guess it's about time I had a go at my building my first piezo cbg.

I used to do that, James and try to leave some glue between the disc and box.  These piezos came with a thin layer of rubber (or similar) that may kind of 'insulate' things and cut feed back.
