This is from a busk a few weeks ago in St Ives (computer has been playing up) It's from 2013. Think I'd been wiring up some pickups on the day I wrote it, which is where verse two came from!

PEBBLES

You and I are pebbles,
pebbles in a stream,
water flowing over us,
wearing us down.
You and I are wires
twisted together,
twisted ‘till we don’t even know
who we were.

twisted together long ago.
You and I are branches,
branches on a tree.
The leaves have fallen off
and now you see
the spaces in between.
Yeah the spaces in between,
is where it all seems to be.
Yeah, you and I are pebbles,
pebbles in a stream,
life is flowing over us,
wearing us down,
wearing us down,
