Really!! Or are you pulling my leg.

I've tried improvising frets with electric fence wire from Tractor Supply, but only with mediocre results.

Gitty(Ben)'s bargain prices on fretwire are looking better and better. Besides, I can show a Sears & Roebuck catalog as early as 1912 that sold packets of 18 frets made of "German silver" (which I take to be comparable to our nickel silver today.)

Are those frets "real?"

I thought they were just drawn on, but your pitches are so accurate I'm guessing they're actual fretwire.

You make your point about open tuning. I'm actually hearing thirds in the chords--thanks to your distortion box.
