Best thing I ever did was when my son was a teenager and having trouble as they do I bought him a import strat and an amp. It was the best therapy for the money I could of got. The list of benifits is too long to mention here, besides the fun he and I had playing together. So start em, younger the better. He became addicted to guitars and music, but it's a good addiction.
