The famed Maxwell Street Market got shut down years ago, and the whole area has been redeveloped

with some pretty hideous architecture.  All that's left is one block of old buildings between Halsted and

Union streets, that have been rehabbed to make this stretch of Maxwell St look like a Ye Olde Chicago

theme park.  But at least there's still the smell of grilled onions from the nearby 24/7 hot dog stands!
