Amazing! The mic/piezo combo gives it a really nice Hofner-like bass sound. And with weed whacker filament for strings that saves an easy $45 (LaBella)  to $72 (Pyramid) off what you'd pay for a set of strings designed for the "Beatle Bass. (Not to mention the $2600 a 500/1 bass itself would set you back.) "

Like it! :-)

That's cool Randy - haven't seen this before.  A quick google search took me to windworld.com which sells these.  They say it has a better frequency response.  I guess I'll have to put it on the list.  Thanks for the info.

Ithink if you try a film piezo on your bass you`ll get a much better sound out of it. These pickups work great for large bridge instrumets like fiddles and stand up bass`s. This one picture above is on my bowed dulci.

Thanks everybody - I'm loving the bass.  It puts out a pretty loud sound considering what it is.  Wouldn't hold up in a band setting, but with an acoustic guitar and or CBG, it would hold it's own no problem.

Clock - next time I'll do my demo in song form for you.

You dip the piezo in

You dip the piezo out

You dip the piezo in and you shake it all about...

Neat concept, looks to give a good even cover. You need to post some pictures of that washtub. Nice build!
