A little experimentation with rubber coating piezos and sound tests with my upright washtub bass
Yup. It does sound excellent and I enjoyed this vid. Stand by me.
Amazing! The mic/piezo combo gives it a really nice Hofner-like bass sound. And with weed whacker filament for strings that saves an easy $45 (LaBella) to $72 (Pyramid) off what you'd pay for a set of strings designed for the "Beatle Bass. (Not to mention the $2600 a 500/1 bass itself would set you back.) "
Like it! :-)
That's cool Randy - haven't seen this before. A quick google search took me to windworld.com which sells these. They say it has a better frequency response. I guess I'll have to put it on the list. Thanks for the info.
Thanks everybody - I'm loving the bass. It puts out a pretty loud sound considering what it is. Wouldn't hold up in a band setting, but with an acoustic guitar and or CBG, it would hold it's own no problem.
Clock - next time I'll do my demo in song form for you.
You dip the piezo in
You dip the piezo out
You dip the piezo in and you shake it all about...
Man that is BEAUTIFUL! GOOD JOB!
Neat concept, looks to give a good even cover. You need to post some pictures of that washtub. Nice build!
I want ONE good stuff ,-)
I liked the boomboomboomityboom part, but the part with the words made me confused and my head hurt...
