Hey Jim, I've been doing this on all my piezos and it seems to work fine for everything.  I've been doing 5-6 coats lately.

sounds great. would the dipped piezo work in a regular CBG, or would it be too muffled?

Thanks Bluesheart.  It's fun to play.

Nice sound - may try that if I can find the plastic dip in Englandshire.

Glad I could help out Vinyl ;)   One of the perks of being a single guy I guess...

I hear bass players are always popular ;)

Well...um...at least they can always get work. At least from my experience being one. And look at you! Fretless is cool. Upright is even cooler. But fretless upright washtub - that's gotta be a 'unique selling proposition' if there ever was one.  :-))

Interesting, and a great sounding bass either way. I'm going to show this vid to my girlfriend the next time she complains about me building my little guitars in the kitchen, and point out she's lucky I'm not making basses!

Thanks be and UJ.  This is going to be a fun instrument to learn to play.  I hear bass players are always popular ;)

eK - you got that right.  I was just telling someone I feel like I saved or made 3 grand on this.  And my jaw hit the floor when I saw the price of real upright strings.  I spent around $55 dollars total and it could be done cheaper with some scrounging.  Thanks for looking!
