Nice work. Add a fret (or fretless) board to the neck. That will help to lower the action a bit, I think. That and what Bluesheart said.

NIce sound from that and good playing too. Well done. Make a new bridge for that thing with some slots to open those strings up a bit.

@Graham thanks a lot.  I used Martin SP light acoustics (just a pack I had lying around - not intentional).  And I used the A, D, G and B string.  I believe I was in Open E when I recorded this (E, B, E, G#) which the guitar seems to like best.

Man, that git sounds great and you play it pretty good too. Just swap out a threaded eye bolt for the bridge. Really cool!

That poplar stained nice.  An easy way to bring the finger board higher is to add a 1/4 inch fret board.  I think you did very well.   Wow, that one sounds good and you play it well.

Sounds good! I made the same mistake with the lid on my first build too. If you use a piece of threaded rod for the bridge, you can just lay it on the top of the lid and spread the strings apart so they lie in the threads.
