Cigar Box guitar- neck angle or no neck angle?

The big question - do you install the neck flat or with a neck angle? There are lots of opinions, but here's the take from the workshop of Chickenbone John Guitars.

Well done John, I like a bit of angle as a player. Don't know it the tone is different but it's more work to  put the angle in. I like the way you use the a tail block to adjust the stick though.  Sometimes I put the angle at the neck & stick joint if I can't tilt the stick more work but I think the playability is better.

Nice tutorial Chickenbone. A couple of questions:

1) you mention using an adjustable bolt for setting the neck angle, what do you use and how do you place it?

2) what is your nut height?

Thanks....

Great Lesson! Good explanation of the factors involved in setting the action height.  This is something I struggle with in my builds.

Thank you.

Good tutorial. I've always felt the same way about neck angles... so good to hear someone w/experience put it on video. It's more of a preference than an advantage or disadvantage.

Excellent tutorial Chickenbone. I use neck angle to fit a tall pickup under the strings.
