At 12:30am on January 23, 2011, dogfinger steve said…: cheers george, not sure what wood the box is, it was a ply top, looked about the same as sapele(the neck's sapele). i attacked it with a grinder to take the chessboard pattern off and the grain just came up! gave it the blowtorch and stained n waxed it n thats about it,sounded really mellow. sold it a couple of weeks ago and really missing it now:0(
