The build a cigar box amp information is a 12 page A5 sized booklet. It is based on buying a small amplifier kit from electronics dealers such as Maplin in the UK or Radio shack in the USA. You can also find similar items on Ebay. My booklet is aimed at beginners to electronics and gives tips on wiring and soldering and what else you might need to turn the kit into a cigar box amplifier. I also give email support for any questions you might have when building your amp.

Hi Gary, I didn't want to answer on the forum and take the radio ad from the top but regarding selling http://www.cigarboxnation.com/forum/categories/for-sale-cigar-box-guitars/listForCategory is for the main site, or start a topic on the Brits are coming.. Depending upon what you are selling there is always the next Boxstock when you could sell, or eBay will give you a bigger number of people to sell to.
The piece of wood on the right is the end of the neck, I had to lie on the floor to take this photo as the thing is clamped to a bench glueing the fingerboard in place.
Cutting a rod piezo will not affect the sound, "tip" cut the rod on it`s side. There`s 2 tiny brass plates in the rod, if they touch it won`t work. I cut the 1/8" plug off the rod wire and solder it up to a regular input jack. The braided wire is the ground, you just need to fish out the plastic coated wire [ hot ] out of the braided one,an ice pick works good to do that.
Good to have you as a friend on CBN. I will have a go at the tabs, but so far I have only played it on a double neck guitar. It shouldn't take too much to reduce it to three strings.
It's the UK version of the 'Nation' (albeit a bit smaller!) run by Ben (Roosterman) and Chickenbone John, and Boxstock is the UKs big cigar box festival (held in West Brom in the midlands). It's at the very end of this month and it really is a must-do event for UK based enthusiasts. There's workshops, sales, open-mic sessions etc etc and the line-up for this years evening entertainment is awesome. Check the website out and drop Ben a line for the full lowdown. I went for the first time last year with a vague interest in CBGs and came away absolutely hooked (and a couple of hundred quid the poorer!!). If you can get there you will not regret it.
i agree whith you mark, i made a plan for my first build- cut it wrong and carried on- design and build' they call- hit a prob--- redesign. no rules enjoy
If you're looking for guitar plans then the first place to check is under the "Free Plans" section of this site. But don't worry too much about having to follow a specific design - the great thing about this hobby is creating something that's unique and all your own work. Just look around at the pictures posted by other people and let yourself be inspired by things that catch your eye. That's how I started.

Will send another photo when the glue has set
Gary
I've posted a couple of photos.Do you have enough depth in the box to glue a thick piece of ply to the back of the through neck ?
The pots will probably be marked A and B
Use A for volume and B for the tone
Honoured to have you as a buddy, Gary. I need a Welsh Dragon button badge for my hat now. Back to work, get on with your practise!
