It's quite a compliment coming from some one who has built so many great builds.

I especially like the resonators. Great cover plates.

Thanks,

Fred

Thanks

HELLO LUCKY - Have you ever used a small BASS pick up on a CBG -# or 4 string ?? OR better off with a single coil or HUMBUCKER ?? THANKS / PEACE / Arnie Rydberg

thanks Lucky..i believe i had my cbg tuned to AEa on that vid...the "chord" i use in that vid i think was just 2nd fret 2nd string, third fret first string and will work in any 151 tuning

Hi Terry, Dulcimers are great fun. Everything I know about them I learned from Dulciworld group here: http://www.cigarboxnation.com/group/dulciworld
A few posts down on this page Diane leas me to the fret question you ask. As far as tuning I found out most tab songs are done in DAD if you plan on using tab that would be your tuning. There is also a conversation that is worth reading about strings on the dulciworld group. Good luck and enjoy.

Hi Lucky!

Here is the actual page to everythingdulcimer.com 's tab page ....

http://everythingdulcimer.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=178&Itemid=142

Here's and actual page at Mcnallys Strumstick.com ...

http://strumstick.com/html_pages/sssongpagetoc.html

Now some tips.
1-On everythingdulcimer, they are dulcimer tabs so we have to retab or read upside down. Our low string is top .. a dulcimer has low string on bottom, and dulcimer tabs reflect that.

2-Strumstick tabs are just like what you should have. Low string on top. pick and or strum.

3-Start out with songs you know on other instruments or would otherwise recognize. That way you know you.re playing right.

4-Start out tuned DAd. ( thats 1,5,1 in theory terms). Then when ever you are tuned 151 it'll play the same in DAd, CGc,GDg, etc.

Matt

Oh yeah ... I put this here 'cuz the strumstick dude gets touchy when his stuff is thrown around.

I've starved trying to be an artist and I've never been good enough at playing music to make a living doing that but I enjoy the HELL out of both, had to make a living the hard way with my back and a lot of hard work which has taken it's toll.

I'm sort of retired now due to a bad back and other health issues but at least I'm finding the time to get back to the art and music.

Best to you and yours this Xmas and New Year. (:>}

As for sound files, I don't have a decent mic here, but I"m working at it.

Hello,
I have started a CBN group entitled, "How to Play CBG" It is my hope and intention to encourage the "Wealth of Talent" here on the Nation to share their knowledge and skill to further the CBG movement. Please consider contributing an instructional "video" link to this group. If you are a viewer seeking instruction, please feel free to write. If you have any suggestions or know other players who you think may want to post instructional "video" links, please contact me. Thank you for your interest and support, Keni Lee

Hi Lucky , long time no talk eh ! , hope your keeping well , thanks for the comments on my crappy video my playing still needs lots and lots of work lol! these hands were made for making everything other than music ...well you can't have it all !
as regards the Three string i'm building i have been taking in progress pix but have not uploaded any as yet i was going to wait till it's all finished ( not long now ) i have tried to use items that i have never seen used before for fixtures and fittings if it all goes to plan it should look pretty cool ( if i say so myself ) been enjoying doing it which is a suprize as i was reluctant to take it on at first as it's not my style as such but it's actually growing on me lol!
sorry i can't let you know more about it - i promised Hollowbelly that he would be the first to see it , but thanks for your intrest mate much appriciated
keep well

Thank you for the kind compliment. Please check out my Series 1 instructional CD that is available on ebay. Search: Keni Lee
I think you will like the rural grassroots approach. Once you start working in open tunings, and understanding the string relationships, you will never play the guitar the same way again. In additional, I will be glad to answer any of your musical question. BTW: Very cool cover plates. Enjoy.

Tuned top three of regular open G...thats G-B- D low to high. Gauges vary depending on what scale you are using, but 23wound, 14plain, 10plain as a minimum.
