Hi Ted, Happy New Year . Took your advice and visited Harbor Freight .Apologies if I slowed their computer system down! For fun I entered my partial UK postcode into the Zipcode .... Hey Presto I'm now aware that I'm only 200 miles away from 41 USA stores LOL! mmmm, how about visiting the Des Moines ,Iowa store... just enter my UK address for driving directions....35 minutes later .... asked me to re-enter my home address :-D
hi ted. thank you for your previous advice. i have a new question. i bought some old switches from ebay, from a jeep, just on/off. i'd like to use them for pickups, two electric, two piezo. can i run the grounds to all four switches, with a master going to the jack, and the four hots to the switches? will this create a ground loop or any other problems? i'd like to create a unique way of mixing the pickups. the switches are perfect for a cbg, with nice threaded collars. thank you for any feedback. dan.
I recently received a 4x4 rafter that was hand hewn by my great great grandfather and used in his log house. I'd like to use some of it for a CBG neck. It's made of loblolly pine. Is there any reason I shouldn't use it?
I'm planning to laminate either a purpleheart or lacewood fretboard to it.
this is a great video ted! i'm still having an issue with the solder taking to the piezo! Not sure i have the right solder. Also the piezo i have is out of a new smoke detector, it had a green film over the ceramic centre and the outside is bare metal. I'm not sure if its the piezo or the solder. any in put as rookie as it may be, i am all ears.
Geez..I don't know what I did wrong but I can't find the message you sent with the friend request. My cbg has EAD strings & was wondering what to tune it to without the fear of breaking something. I was thinking of dad....that way I'm dropping down only I step on the E.
Thanks Ted, i sure value your friendship. I love your big project and great ideas generated by the 71 guits for the Coalhouse Project. I am honored to get to know you more. ... Dave
This is my first visit to you page and the pictures blew me away. I can't wait to check out the videos but after checking out every one of your pics my head just might explode from sensory overload.
Your work is way out of the box (seriously, no pun intended).
Currently on display at the CBG Museum at Speal's Tavern. We used half of an old guitar hardshell case as an appropriate "frame" for the 6 Banger. Info and a pic of Honeydripper movie on placards beside it.

Hey Ted, just wondering if you are still offering the DownUnder pickups? Looks like they've been sold out at Gitty's for a while.
