Howdy Steve, I'm glad to have you for a nation friend. Thanks! I looked over your page and very nice cbgs and videos. I really like the dust bowl vid and the recent train vid. I had the day off and worked a bit to improve 2 old builds and started making a pie safe. Time to build somthing other than cbgs. Although, I have an ebay bid on some bass tuners.... :) John
thanks Steve. I do think there is a lot of freedom to Cigar Box Guitars, it's like a place where rules don't apply and you can do what ever your mind can think of. . .Mark
Thank you Doctor Steve for your comment. I am glad you found my video helpful. Part 3 will complete the story and really fill in the gaps. Please check out my instructional video CD 4 (How to Play 3 string CBG) for even more clarification. Enjoy.
Hey doc, thanks & im at ur service.. for ur basic strumstick type fretting and tuning, theres only 2 frets u need to split to have the scale perfect, theyre the middle two in the chromatic run up the top, frets 10 and 11.. if u look at the blue one on the left here, thats it. Let me know when ur ready to have a crack and i'll talk u thru the options to do the part slots, which is the tricky bit btw, if ur happy to put part frets in a full slot and have the ugly part unfilled slot, then its pretty straight forward.. rockin tunes up here too, bravo
howdy doctor steve,on the copper padron resonator the biscuit bridge is stationary and sets on the copper plate, just the neck is adjustable and the adjustment only adjust the string height for variations in between slide and finger picking. to lower the string action you just loosen the strings slightly turn the set screw clockwise to set it like you want for finger picking. to raise the action do the reverse, turn the set screw counterclockwise.the picture of the guitar shows that it has no frets but i will add them soon as i get the chance. multi- pourpose function was the design intention,of the adjustable neck.
hello dr.steve, just stopped by to tell you that i added the piezo element to the biscuit on the tri-can resonator build myself and it was the first time i tried it. i like the results and will do it that way again on the next resonator i build to compare the tone.
thanks dr.steve,i first linked the 3 cans together in january of 2009,but did not build this guitar till september 2009, this box was not deep enough to have the link too so i eliminated the link and just used the 3 cans, and set the biscuit centered on all 3 cans and it worked. it was not real loud so i flipped the cans in the box with the opening of the cans facing the top of the box instead of the back of the box, that increased the volume.left it acoustic untill recently and added a piezo element inside the biscuit. now it is complete and i have just recently added a short sound check video on my page of how this tri-can resonator sounds. i will do this again, cause i like the way it turned out. thanks again for the comment.

Very cool article.
I went by the Tobaco shop and the owner gave me several Cigar boxes. Two of them are very interesting. Cant wait to show you.

Most preamps that don't have an 'OFF' switch will disconnect the battery when you unplug the guitar cable.
Does the jack socket have 3 terminals? If so, unplug it when you're not using it. :-))
