I think I'll build my diddley bow useing your basic body style, with a large eye bolt on a wood base to raise it high enough a thumb screw for the nut.
If you would like cheap pickups and good ones check out cigtone.com he's cheaper than anyone, except if you use a piezo pick up. I have a friend who built a solid body guitar, used a forsner bit drilled down in the back untill there was just a thin piece of wood where the bridge sits. he used hot glue in the hole put in the piezo used hot glue over it. You wouldn't believe the sound.
