You had asked about the Cigbooster. I've never made any demos because it's so much more subtle than a fuzz pedal. I just finished a new batch (the first batch sold out), so if you are interested in purchase, go to www.cigbooster.bigcartel.com Thanks! Dennis

Just listened to you audio of the hack job sounds good to me. Sounds a little like an asian type instrument also because of the tin for the bridge, but I like it.

I bought a one string pickup from Philip Eggers at cigtone.com for around $15.00 including shipping. I think I'll build my diddley bow useing your basic body style, with a large eye bolt on a wood base to raise it high enough a thumb screw for the nut.
If you would like cheap pickups and good ones check out cigtone.com he's cheaper than anyone, except if you use a piezo pick up. I have a friend who built a solid body guitar, used a forsner bit drilled down in the back untill there was just a thin piece of wood where the bridge sits. he used hot glue in the hole put in the piezo used hot glue over it. You wouldn't believe the sound.

Thomas was wondering if the tin box just sit on the body held in place by the strings. If so have you thought about removeing the thum screw bridge raiseing the front edge of the tin to act as the bridge. I think you might get a resonator sound.

Good day my new friend, I had been working on an idea along the same line as you hack job, but for a diddley bow. How good does the hack job sound. I have heard diddley bows with a high E string with the tin but never set up like a regular cbg. I also have a friend interested.

I was thinking of a diddley bow along the same lines, but now that I see yours I guess I'm going to have to borrow that Ideea if it's alright with you. Your build is very kool. Besides I have a cousin who thinks he has to have expensive guitars to make music.
