howdy,hermit--to answer yer question about the acoustic voice of the arturo acoustic--i always try to proportion things when i consider a build and that sound-hole size on that guitar seemed properly proportioned--little smaller or little larger would not have looked right to me so deciding the proportion helped condition the voice. to me its not real loud but the tone rings true. i still have one stage left to work on on that build concerning the inside of the box and i think it will help the volume a little after that stage is complete.
thank you sir for the comment,i can tell you how i make the necks i build look older than they really are. i make a solution of stain like the old school folks did by using pipe tobacco and water, let it set fer a while then mash the tobacco in the water in the jar then apply on to the wood, sometimes several coats are needed. i let it dry well, then later i use oil finish over the tobacco stained wood. the oil finish brings the darker colors out well.thanks again hermit for the comment and the question.
Thank you Hermit for your comment. In addition to the Key of C chords, I will be posting lessons for the keys of D, G , A, and E. Also 7th and m7th chords. I think the whole series will provide a good foundation for finding any chord you need in three different positions. Enjoy your practice and thanks again for your interest.
Hi Hermit, cheers for the comment on drunken-meister...the sombre tone is echoing our beautiful weather..grey skies on grey streets!...Englands green and pleasant land
cheers for the greetings! haha, its already consuming me! taking a trip to b&q / homebase etc at the weekend to get a new scroll saw, my ones a bit rusty! should be making some geetars in no time 8-)
hey hermit, just stopped by ta say thanks fer da comment on the kodak film canister build,it is incredible how loud it is even with no sound holes yet.i just put a hour or 2 into it last night, started with the stick and the can, but still got some dressing up to do with it,thanks again for the cool comments.
Thanks very much for the kind comment on my discussion. I'm glad to help in any way I can. Just out of curiosity, what the heck is it I'm looking at in your profile picture????
Hey thanks for the kind words. Persian fiddle is really hard to play but sounds pretty good, suprisingly loud considering small size and no sound hole. I like that skeleton key bridge on that pretty box of yours.
