Hi there Lonman ! on your qustion on the Tailpiece ,thats a Heineken beer flipper! that i bend, its made out of groomed pressed steal, and lets be adjusteble whit out scratching it to much, bending and drilling holes realy, i used it because that way i had a hollow space to go over the boxlock that i did not want to damage, hope it comes out better in this picture ! thanks for asking ! Season Greeeeetssszz A.D.
Hello Lonman, since you do well to use no chipwood. Plywood boards (I do not know the word for it) are much more stable and lighter. They are available in our birch beech poplar and maple. I had chosen birch. Yours Schorsch
I saw your question about techniques for photos. I've had good luck with water slide paper. This essentially lets you make a decal. You find your image, maybe edit the photo, then print onto the water slide paper. It comes in both laser and ink jet varieties. You then spray it with clear acrylic. When it's dry, soak the paper in water briefly, then slide the picture off the backing onto the box.
Cheers mate for your comments on the truss rod cover and jack socket - i was given a bit of pearloid sheet - but i would not know where to buy it from - it's propper use was for a new outer skin on a drum kit - i guess you could try a music store but it may be cheaper to buy a Stratocaster pearloid scratch plate and use that to make your parts from - other than that try ebay
Thanks for your kind comments also. Yup, the builds can accumulate. But, you know, I truly enjoy about half a dozen on a frequent basis and a half dozen more on an occasional basis. I did sell 2 the last too weeks (and too cheaply, but I had my fun.) And I just finished a quickie build out of scraps that is spoken for - and I hate to let it go.
Thanks for your kind comments on Cigar Box Guitar Song and me sharing on gits. Others have helped me and I will pay back and forward when I can. We have a great hobby. I like your gets.
Thanks for the comment, Lonman. The neck wood for that guitar is red oak. It just looks like that because I burned it with a blowtorch and oiled it up with tung oil.
