Just got this email.
This is Valerie, Anonymous Pick’s wife. I'm saddened to tell you Pick passed away October 11at 5pm. I wrote to you on another sight so I hope you get this email. He loved all you guys and making his guitars. Could you please announce this. He asked me to let you know but I couldn't get on Cigar Box Nation.
We just lost a legend. Feel free to post your favorite Pick stories, instrument photos and videos below. You can also go thru his personal page on here at https://www.cigarboxnation.com/profile/theanonymouspick
I came too late to know of him, however my condolences to all who did.
I cam here to day because some one I know asked me about a cigar box guitar, and it prompted me to come here after not doing so for a long time. then I thought maybe the anonymous pick is here and I can talk to him only to find out he is gone. very disappointed to learn this!!!
Is it just me? or does he not look exactly how you pictured him?
He was a great guitar Builder I love the Swamp Witch He built for Me He will be missed RIP Pick
Hey, Turtlehead and Slowpaw, good to see you. Pick got a lot of folks going here and he has them coming back!
Like a lot of people, pick was the first person who encouraged me when I signed up here. It meant a lot to me at the time and then I watched him do the same for thousands of other folks. What a legacy.
Very sad to hear about Pick, had many dealings with him over the years, rest in peace my friend.
Slowpaw Steve, England.
Thanks, Shane, for getting this to us he was a really good part of this site for a long time.
Thank you for the picture, Valerie, something we all wanted to know. He was just Pick to us a guy creating amazing instruments and now we know the face. I ordered 2 SW's love what he did with both. We did a song together a few years ago at his request I will repost it. He was well liked and supportive to us all. He will be Missed and Remembered here.
This is really sad news. I don't spend much time on here of late but the Anonymous Pick was a constant. He was a welcoming and friendly person to chat with and he'd created a line of original instruments that had identity and integrity. I shall miss his presence and good humour on CBN and I send my deepest condolences to all of Pick's family and friends, and especially to Valerie.
Rest in peace, Pick.
I haven't been here in a while and I just discovered this sad news. I have a couple of his guitars and he always had kind words for my songs and videos. A couple of years back I put this video together when he was going through some hard times with the health of his wife. I just wanted to lift his spirits. Maybe this can lift all of our spirtits a little.
