Why GDg tuning and not Dobro GBD.

While searching for tabs I found most CBN tabs to be for GDg or other ( I.IV.I ) tuning. Outside CBN the same tune tends to be tabbed for DOBRO GBD tuning.Are there any reasons for the I.IV.I tuning…Continue

My wife and I will be touring Canyon Land and New Mexico this September the week 14-19 we will be in Albuquerque with a Road Scholar group. Are there any CBG enthusiasts in the area I could meet?

Noise when sliding over round wound strings

I am trying to use a lap slide on four string cbg, and i get the noise of the slide moving over the round wound strings. The strings are D'Addario 0.012 tuned to e
0.016 tuned to c
0.024 tuned to a
0.032 tuned to g

Any ideas?
