I'm looking for my next build from CB Gitty. Does anyone have any advice on what CBG build kits are good for playing slide on a fretted CBG? My first build was the "Pure & Simple" fretted build.…Continue

CBG Tabs

So you built your CBG and now you need something to play on it, right? Well, if you're not completely musically inclined or can't read traditional music, tabs are your answer. If you're like me, you read tabs and sometimes make them. Paste'em here.

"After reading this I stopped by Lowes and picked up some copper pipe. Cut, sanded and polished it and it does make a difference. Thanks for the suggestion!"

"Thanks for the advice. The great thing I have learned from everybody on these builds is you can go in a lot of directions with the customization."

"Hi, to get a better break angle over the bridge with the neck over the body style of cbg this what I have done. Remove material from the portion of the neck from the bridge area to the tail end. In effect ramping it so that the strings meet their…"

"I forgot to add this, if you’re action is low, a thicker walled slide will bog the string down on the frets? If you use a thin walled slide, thin like copper pipe, it’s easier to play on a lower action? "

"Actually I suggested to increase the height of the action, but the Pure & Simple cbg is a stick on top of box style, so neck angle is not an option? "

"Hi Patrick, another tip that may save drama later is this. When you plan your build ensure that the bridge is at least 1/2” or more high for the slide set up, and angle or position your neck so as to get the action height you want. This so…"

"Simply you can increase the size of the Bolt that’s used for the Nut & lift the Bridge, that will help you get more clearance? Just make those 2 things higher on the next one, if you don’t like it, you can always lower them? Cheers :)"

Fretted and Slide Advice

I'm looking for my next build from CB Gitty. Does anyone have any advice on what CBG build kits are good for playing slide on a fretted CBG? My first build was the "Pure & Simple" fretted build. I love it but the action is so low it's really difficult to play with a slide. Thanks folks!See More
