It sounds a lot like a vibrochamp (which is basically what it is) when it's run through a proper speaker cab.  It sounds like a 1930's recording when it's run through the tanoy. Best of both worlds!?

you do some really nice work yourself -  thanks for your kind comments - all my amps so far have been hand-soldered lm386 based amps - take-offs on the smokey i guess except for the rubys i have made - all are plenty loud - problem is finding the right speaker - so far for me the best sounding have been old radio and tv speakers 5-6" - i find most new bought small speakers are too "tinny"
