"I just put Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound PBass pickups in my Avatar CBG and I'm having to rewire it because of noise issues. It had twisted wires in most places, but it just wasn't enough. Going back with coaxial wiring."
"That’s exactly why pedal manufacturers use shielded wire & metal enclosures on high gain circuits, they turn into the worst antenna for outside interference. "
"I've been wiring everything with coaxial wire lately. I buy those 3 wire DVD hook up cables and cut off the RCA plug ends. Then I have enough wire for 3 or more guitars."
"BTW... I ende up replacing the twisted pair cable to the jacks with shielded cables and cut them short (only long enough to reach where they were going). That pretty much took care of the problem."

- Usually amp designs have safety factor in the output impedance they can handle. What you have to remember is if you connect a lower impedance speaker your amp will be drawing more current. The output stage (transistors /ic ) will be running hotter, and without sufficient heat sinking could cause the output stage to fail during long periods of use. Higher impedance usually means lower output power.

Jim - I saw your comment re back angle on the neck. My purpose is to give me enough height at the bridge to fit my adjustable bridge (I posted a little article on that awhile back - although others have come up with much more refined designs) and ease the tediousness of set up. Its not necessary if you can use a lower bridge.
