just completed my very first cigar box guitar. cut the neck out of a piece of elm with a chainsaw mainly cos we had little in the way of tools to work with. got the cigar box from the last stall in a market sale and basically stripped the volume pot and machine heads from my old telecaster. used the old piezo pickups to mic it up which not being an electrical genius was pretty cool when it all worked. the bad mutha fucker sticker i got from my local guitar shop seemed like the right thing to do at the time andthen finished off with a resonator hole made out of some mesh and curtain eyelet which worked pretty well.

Hugh I used a Horn driver speaker you cut the bell off and insert your plastic hose into it.As far as using a smaller like head phones it won't last long it will blow out quick because you need the right ohms and a good wattage in order to drive the speaker.
