"Thanks Bob, took me awhile to get it done too, and I was pretty anxious to make that slot in the sled.  Whew.  I wasn't happy with any of the birch ply at the big box stores and the nearest Rockler is a couple hundred miles…"

"I like your tile saw idea, you get to see the cuts, let me know how it works.  I figured cutting a fret slot would be light duty for the saw, that setting it up would be the challenge for me and the saw.  Something like hooch's set up…"

I recently took up the guitar and someone mentioned them to me and I ordered a kit and thought this could be a fun hobby to do at my girlfriends house where we share a work space.
I just got a request to build a four string mandolin for a friend and came here looking for plans or other and other ideas.
