I have hung onto this mic for a long time, it originally comes from a 1930's ham transmitter that I bought at a second hand shop when I was 15. I was going through my junk boxes looking for something else and I found it again and instantly thought it should become a harp / instrument mic as it is too cool to sit around for another 15 years doing nothing.
The original mic capsule in it was no good, so I tried a few other bits and pieces I had including some old telephone mics but I still wasn't happy. I pulled apart a lower end vocal mic I have and removed the capsule from there and this sounds great.
