  • 3/8-1/2" or so, any thinner and you have to start worrying about the glue in the lamination. the oscillating belt sander gets a very good workout, although the top and the back have gotten easier now that I figured out I can use my dremel trio with a flush cut bearing bit to trim to size.

  • Dang good work is all I can say!  I bet that spindle sander gets a good workout on those!  How thick do you make the sides?  I thought about doing it that way but the thought of trying to get that many inches of curvy sides gave me the willies!

  • Very astute and correct gene. 2 slabs of 1-1/8 laminated pine stacked.
  • As I study the pics, it looks like you may have laminated two thicknesses (maybe 1" each) then band sawed them out to shape.  Maybe?  I've tried bending wood and I don't think I could get that double back curve on the cutaway portion!  Either way, it looks fantastic.

  • Fantastic works of playable art!!

  • Tri panel top, bold move!  Looks great!
