Two Stringer w/corners glued in place #3

Here's my 'finished' version of this 2-Stringer, with corners glued in place. I decided to build a second one to test steel strings and metal frets, as I also like the mellow sound of nylon (or Aquilla Nygut).

  • You may have noticed the green plastic 'nut' and the three nylon tie-wraps. What I was trying to do here was to create a fret 0, but there was some buzzing, so I tried to cure it with a second and a third tie-wrap. The buzzing is mostly gone, but it doesn't look pretty. I will need to investigate other ways of doing this. The reason I want a fret 0 is so the open notes will sound like the fretted notes. With a hard nut, the open notes would sound much louder. On future 2-stringers, I'll experiment with metal frets all around. I probably will use cut nails epoxied into slots cut at each fret position.
