  • This is just one of many still in my head. I model them in SketchUp first.  Have three I am working on and need to make 6 CanJos for the grand kids. Only Just started this year. Not enough days in the hour for this important stuff. Your stuff is beautiful, especially the NY Yankees (fan since the Dodgers were in Brooklyn). Like the using the larger 1x, was thinking of  a 1x4 with scabs. Thanks for the tip on the rollers, I did not foresee that problem. Going to have to spend some time on your page. Lot of good ideas. Thanks!

  • Is this something you have built or is it a project still in the planning stage? I'm just asking because I built a few that we're very similar. They can be seen here:

I really spent a lot of time figuring out how to reduce the friction where the strings wrap around to attach to the tuning machines. I tried PVC Pipe, stainless steel rod, wooden dowel rod, etc with no success. While trying to tune the strings, all of the tension was concentrated on the under side of the git. I finally found some ball bearing rollers on eBay that I ended up using and I'm very happy with the results.
Good luck on your build and have fun!
