To slide or not to slide? I built this guitar and a player interested in it liked it but wanted to play it mostly as a slider. The action was pretty tight and I just couldn't see putting a replacement permanent nut on since it plays very well. I made this little attachment; string tension keeps it in place, the channel under fits over the fret wire nut, and it can be taken off or added for which ever style, slide or not, he wants. Any other suggestions? This seems to work.

It works? Keep it. Remember, there are no rules. Actually, I think it is a great idea.
i've used aluminium tube trom a tv aerial cut through lengthways to the same effect
