Thru body strings are held in place with a metal retainer made from the square bar found inside old door handles. Earth wire is sandwiched underneath. The rough carving is the chaps band logo.The customer also wanted a thru neck, but we decided not to cut the grain on the front - the result is the heel part running right thru, while from the top it looks like a bolt on. Il never do another like this - it was a real pain!! :o)
