I finished this build last month but wasn't happy with the finish, it turned out way to glossy for an old log and didn't suite it. So I stripped down and went over it with very fine wire wool to take the shine out, I think it looks far better now and more in keeping. The pickups were a fiddle to make, but I wanted the look of nails just hammered into the wood. The fretboard is spalted ash with has a 3 colour streak through it and the fret markers are branded in using a screw in the tip of my soldering iron.
