The diagonal cat-bowl junker mandolin! 4 strings and a dream. Small almost square box, cat bowl resonator cone, leftover piece of a cabinet hinge for a tailpiece, pao ferro headstock wings on an ugly green piece of green poplar for a neck with an oak fretboard. Tuned GDAE. I made this to test out using a resonator cone because I have 2 builds coming up that will use them. Diagonal builds are a pain in the butt. There's a rod piezo in the bridge that worked before I screwed down the lid, but now there's a bunch of hum. One day I'll crack it open and re-wire but for now, nothing fancy but it works!
