  Yeah! Well I was hoping to use something that was already down in the basement at the same temperature and humidity- it's cool and moist down there, and fiercely hot outside...plus I had my eye on that spalted 2x4 since we bought them!

  Thanks, Dave. It's just a Spruce 2x4, but it's a nice one! Got 4 slices out of it on the tablesaw- enough for this guitar, the Dulcimer I'm working on, and one more! If it works out, I'll have a cheap source of soundboard wood
