Sorta_front

Finally, the Sortacaster! No cigar boxes involved, but it's 3 strings - GDG - and recycled. Sounds great. Body, fir mill rafter; neck, some old poplar with a piece of 1/2" carbon fiber for stiffness; pickguard is the Live Dead LP, Dark Star side. I can't stand Dark star; it looks better here than it ever sounded. Fretwire and pickup wire is new. I've had 61 years to not throw anything away, and it's finally panning out with the CBGs!

  • Very sweet build. Love the clone of a "Tele" style.
  • I love it!
  • << must be a blast to play! >>

Oh, it is! Plays itself, which is good; I'm not much at guitar.

<< where did you get carbon fiber????>>

The hobby shop, model aircraft dep't. This piece was 1/2" wide, and as thick as my thin table saw blade, just long enough for two necks, but they had a wide variety of shapes and sizes. All kinds of handy-looking little hardware besides.
  • Wow, you have great style and I love the use or reclaimed materials. I like to use recycled materials as much as possible.A beauty!
