This small washboard was $8 at a local antique dealer, and the two support posts fit neatly over one's leg while seated. Have added a few cowbells (courtesty of HobbyLobby) since this foto taken....The horn and small bells courtesy of local bike shop. Note: many bike shops remove these small bells from the kids bikes they sell since a lot of parents don't want to hear them ringing all the time...ask, they may give them to you for free, or sell them super cheap. Thimbles do the trick in rubbing out the rhythmic effect, but also try a thick thumbpick on your thumb, reach around back with thumb while fingers work out front, makes for easy play.

Nice. I really think these things add a lot to our music and should be used more. I need a washboard player!
