  • Thanks Jerry...I've sort of accumulated them over the years, as yer do....I'm just at the beginning of my CBG journey and I just KNOW it's gonna be a great ride.....!! Thanks for responding to my first postings on here today, and for the encouragement and good vibes!

  • Thanks Gary, glad you liked the pic......and thanks for the welcome too!

  • Brian - that's a great assortment!  And welcome!

  • useful set there.,.,and its a great hobby.,.,

  • Got to hand it to you, Brian!   Laters my friend.

  • Thank you for the tip Uncle John, and funnily enough I've been thinking of trying a ceramic slide....you must have read my palm....ha!!! (It probably says the same on your palm as well...!!) Really appreciate your response to my first postings on here Uncle John....makes me feel very welcome on this fine forum.

  • Oh, sorry.  Just checked and saw you are in the U.K.  Dave may not want to ship there.    And this is funny thing to say, but your hand is about a twin to mine.

  • Good point on the light acrylic.   I was luke warm on mine and gave it away.  Now I wish I had one again.   Funny that slide came with that little Chinese guitar.  Good package and price.

Yup on brass Dunlops, but I am old and might hurt myself lifting that one on your thumb.   My fave is a tapered Brass Dunlop and my Dave Lynas.

Some time, maybe contact Dave Lynas and add one of his ceramic slides to your collection.  I think he may be ready to make a batch.  they are good and they are bargains.

  • Correction to last post...the Dunlop brass slide is a 224, NOT a 244.....doh!

  • I've used a Dunlop acrylic slide for years on my conventional electric guitars and got on well with it. I like the light weight....as those guitars all have low actions it makes life a bit easier and they have a nice warm tone.

The slide on my ring finger in the pic is actually the one that came with the Blues Box Guitar, and it's really good, a bit shorter than the Dunlop version. The anodised one on my pinky (with the stainless steel one sticking out of it!)gives a nice gritty tone on the BB guitar with wound strings, but my current favourite is the big heavy Dunlop 244 brass one on my thumb.
