  • Dean has his own sawmill and collects wood so he has a variety to piddle around with.  The top and back of the banjo are native spruce.  The side wood is ash. The fretboard, bridge, tailpiece and heel plate are all walnut.  The neck is birch with a tamarack spline. Both the nut and saddle are made of deer antler. He is working on two more banjos right now and I will be doing the fretwork as well as some abalone inlay and binding to really dress things up.
