The recessed lid is something that I have not seen others address in how to insert the neck to this type of lid. Is the cut out for the neck made on both the bottom side of the box and the lid, itself or made just to the bottom section of the box, alone?

the top lid first,then get the thickness of the lid,next I notch the neck out whatever the lid thickness is,put the neck on the lid and see what the dimension is from the neck to the bottom part of lid,what that dimension is is what you use to cut out the bottom part of the box.I know this sounds confusing but it is the only way I can explain it.I hope this helps you.
