Raised fret detail

This is a closeup of the raise fret idea my buddy Shane (not Mr. Speal) and I came up with. Used a small Japanese backsaw and split a 3/8" dowel in half, and then cut the slot for the fret in the good half of the dowel. Lots of sanding for proper height, and rounding of the edges, and then final installation with a few drops of CA glue.

    That reminds me of a guitar I bought in Vietnam a few years ago
    It had a scalloped fretboard that produced some really neat sounds
