  • These machines aren't the type with inserts at the top. Didn't know you could add them to this style. They work good for now. There is one I had to file out the shaft hole to get it right. That one may need attention if it screws up. Thanks Kalmario. I like getting some criticism. I need all the advise I can get. I learn a lot from you guys.
  • so 2 string or 4?  also with out inserts at the top of the machine head you can get a bit of movement which make tuning ugly (just fixed an old mandolin by adding these and it made a world of difference).  sorry its sounds critical but its not meant to be.  love the head stock and bi-coloured fret board. cheers Cliff

  • Thanks guys. I might have a bit of trouble with my strings over the headstock. Without a fretboard there is little string angle from the nut to the tuner shafts. I'll need string tie downs. Screws close to the nur should do it. It works good with lap steel string height, but I want the action low for fretting and slide. Just filing slots in my jumbo bone nut. I like deep notches in the nut but this will have canyons!
  • Better yet.

  • Nice job .
