I found a cool trefoil-like hinge which I think would make a good tailpiece. I am thinking that the through-neck will stop right at the box, with the hinge screwed into the end of it.

I bought a few of these hinges yesterday at Home Depot. They look pretty cool. Found that the ferrule(?) on the strings passes through too easily. Think I might back it with a small sliver of purple heart or maybe loop the string around a cotter pin underneath the hinge or.... (ideas coming quickly :>)
