Note screws to route strings. I need to pull the strings off and re-route them to get more space between each string.Huge piece of threaded rod required because I cut the box notch too deep. It didn't help that I'd cut the nut notch on the wrong side of the neck. Godzilla couldn't press the strings down far enough to get a clean note. It slides just fine.

  • There's a story there - I'll need to take a picture too. There are two ways to answer this question but either way, I screwed up and decided it looked OK.

    On the first build, the holes are a little to close together and the old tuners wouldn't fit squarely. Thus, the angle. I liked it, so the 2nd build was done that way intentionally.
  • I just got to ask why do you put the tuners at a slant ?
  • I though I was going to try to make a 6-string. 4-strings is plenty. I mostly used three, so subsequent builds will be 3-stringers. Maybe a 5-string canjo some day.
