Hi Jay. I used to remove the "bad" frets, but I like to replace the board because the old ones are usually not level anymore, and they have wimpy little frets, and I found by raising the fret board the sound brightens up a bit. Also added are guitar frets...Besides, I have too much time on my hands! Keep up the good work! Rich
