Oak Fingerboard

I decided that the Elm wouldn't be hard enough to use as a fretboard, so I resawed it to 5/8" thick to use as an underwood, and made up a fingerboard out of 1/4" Oak trim. I was fortunate the Oak was nicely beveled on both ends, so I cut it to size and turned the beveled edges inwards, on either side of the strum hollow. Marked out all the fret positions on the Oak and drilled holes for the broomwire frets and the fret dots. The piece I trimmed off the original fretboard is all nicely marked out for measuring 27" VSL fretboards
