  • Cool reuse of old wood!  And you're right - it's a nice wood to use for instruments!

  • I love using Cedar. I have a good source for it from edging off old industrial timbers from elevators here in Duluth. It is light, beautiful and good tone wood. I got started playing again after several years away from music. It was the Strumstick that did the trick. Then I moved to banjo and then box guitars and on and on. The strummer was the seed.
  • Thanks Dave - I do too!  Guess that's why 4 of my latest builds have been some permutation of that!  I do think my next one will use thin cedar for the soundboard face - - it's sure pretty when hit with a little lemon oil!

  • Beautiful Gary. I love stumsticks.
